Please read the following information, then go to the lists below!

I BUY, SELL, AND TRADE rock and roll-related concert posters, handbills, and related memorabilia. My special area of interest is 1960's psychedelic material, but you'll see from this list that "related" is a pretty broad term, and that there are many more recent items, as well as some non-paper stuff, included as well.

I have been collecting this stuff for more than 35 years, and was one of the major contributors to Paul Grushkin's book The Art of Rock, now in its 4th edition, which has become the bible of rock art collectors.

If you've found this page, you probably already know about the large commercial dealers. My approach is different. Since this is primarily a labor of love, I tend to specialize in original rare and unusual items for serious collectors. Most of the items listed here are TRUE originals; that is, vintage printings from before or at the time of the event. I do include some later printings from time to time if they are collectible in their own right. When I do include a reprint, or if I'm not sure about what printing I have, I'll include that information in the description.

Many of the items in this list were never produced for commercial sale or have been unavailable commercially for many years. Many are one-of-a kind items. And there's simply a lot of oddball stuff that somehow seems to fit in a list like this, even though it isn't strictly related to rock and roll.

A note about this website: As you can tell, I've gone pretty lo-tech here. No fancy graphics, dancing figures, mind-blowing psychedelic doodads, etc. There's something almost perversely rebellious (and therefore in the true spirit of the '60's) in keeping it simple, and most of my customers seem to like it that way. Similarly, I haven't included illustrations of most of the posters, in part because of copyright concerns. But once you've checked out these lists, I'm sure you'll agree that the quality of the items offered is as good as any other source on the Web. And since the items in this list aren't illustrated, you're free to ask any questions about them by e-mailing me; just click here. (NOTE: Please indicate in the message title that you're e-mailing about posters...I get numerous spam emails every day, and I don't want to inadvertently delete your inquiry! That's life on the Internet these days...) I can transmit digital images of posters if it is essential that you see them before deciding whether or not to buy. I also recommend the sources listed on the "references" page of this website for illustration and information about rock posters.

I ALSO BUY AND TRADE VINTAGE ROCK POSTERS AND RELATED ITEMS. IF YOU HAVE ANY TO SELL, PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

UPDATE 8/14/2010: I've added some new goodies, posters and handbills, some interesting stuff. Gradually working through the new stock handbills to get them up on the site, but it's taking longer than expected, even by my rather lax standards. I'll keep at it as time permits, so stay tuned! --Paul

A SPECIAL DEAL FOR YOU: Offered exclusively here is a great promotional item left over from Bill Graham's days as a rock and roll promoter in San Francisco, California. These black baseball-style hats say "Bill Graham's Winterland Productions, with a big yellow sun in the center and the words "San Francisco" on the reverse. Graham, of course, was the operator of the famous Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco, and the Fillmore East in New York, in addition to producing numerous concerts nationwide at other venues. He died in a helicopter accident in the early1990s, marking the end of an era in San Francisco music.

Winterland Productions named after the famous San Francisco venue was formed in the early 1970s by Graham and a partner as the merchandising arm of Graham's rock and roll empire. The company originally produced the famous screen-printed shirts for the Grateful Dead, then branched out to handle the merchandising for Journey and the Steve Miller Band, and ultimately did t-shirt printing and merchandising for many other groups, venues, and events. The company was sold after Graham's death and no longer exists under that name.

These hats come from a small batch unearthed from a warehouse find. They are absolutely original; according to the info I received, the logo was designed in the early 1970s and the hats themselves were produced in limited quantity in about 1987 or so, while Graham was still alive, as staff items for Winterland Productions employees and staff. I am informed that they were never sold to the public. Although more than 20 years old, they are unused and in perfect original condition. These are a GREAT item for fans of the Fillmore and Winterland, San Francisco rock music, Bill Graham, or 1960s rock poster collectors. NOT AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE (I do also run them on eBay). Postage is $4.95 for priority mail shipping in California and $5.50 elswhere (can combine shipping on multiple orders). Every poster collector needs one of these!

NOTE that the 2010 TRPS annual poster show has been announced for Saturday, Oct 9th, 2010, at the Hall of Flowers in San Francisco. I plan to be there this year, after a 1-year hiatus due to a family schedule conflict in 2009. Hope to see you there! Here's some photos of yours truly at the 10/13/2007 TRPS show; if I look a bit dazed and confused, it's because things got pretty hectic for awhile!
